Yorke Peninsula Pelvic Pain Clinic
We believe access to quality women’s health care is vital to managing period pain, endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, regardless of location or logistics.
Our multidisciplinary team can help investigate and manage pelvic pain. We offer a service that includes long appointments with our specialist GP (with a special interest in women’s health), Dietitian, and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist. We work closely with visiting Gynaecologists to improve the early management of period pain.
We also work on community engagement projects such as GP and Allied Health education and client education at YP Field Days. Our upcoming “Women’s Wellness” events will commence in April 2024 – a short 20-30 minute talk each week followed by 45 minutes of yoga with Emma.
The Yorke Peninsula Pelvic Pain Clinic is federally funded – one of the twenty-two clinics piloted to improve outcomes for women with period pain.
-

Patients can self-refer by contacting the clinic, or get a referral letter from their doctor. Our nurse coordinator will then phone to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and book their appointments.
This service is funded by the commonwealth, however, missed appointments will still incur a fee to the patient.
Please note we do not offer a gynaecology service. We offer IUDs, pessary management and other minor procedures at a private cost.
Patients will be returned to follow up with their usual GP for mental health care plans and chronic disease care plans during and after their clinic sessions.
A referral letter with a medical summary and previous test results is helpful but not essential. If able, please address to:
